James Steel

james@gatewaycargo.co.nz
James (Jamie) prides himself on using his wealth of knowledge and experience to help provide solutions and ideas for his team and clients. Having been in the industry since 1980, and just celebrating over 25 years in business at Gateway Cargo, he is still very excited about working and building relationships within the Industry. and especially with clients and overseas partners. Establishing connections and associations with like-minded customers and partners is a special and rewarding bonus to being an owner of this great company. Outside of Gateway Cargo, he has a great passion for Sports. Rugby, Cricket and now the frustration of Golf, Off the playing fields he found in the kitchen cooking up a storm or listening to Music.

Nicky Franks

General Manager
nicky@gatewaycargo.co.nz
Nicky has a broad depth of knowledge about the industry and company alike as she has been in the industry since 1985 and at Gateway since 2000 – she is an asset to our team. She finds satisfaction in the challenge of helping people move their freight around the world in the way that best suits them. Beyond Gateway, Nicky likes to better herself through food, walking, music, and architecture. You may also find her ticking off visiting all the golden beaches around the world while enjoying a fillet steak or two.

Darron Burns

Sales
darron@gatewaycargo.co.nz
Darron thrives off the fast-paced challenging environment that freight forwarding involves and has been since he started in freight forwarding in 1983. It is this passion that makes him so valuable at Gateway Cargo by constantly thinking outside the box to find solutions for our clients. The fast-paced lifestyle doesn't stop once he leaves the office either, Darron never stops - whether he is foraging, making jams, or cycling - he is always finding new ways to fill in his spare time. Which makes it no surprise his favourite sporting moment would be Peter Snells winning double gold!

Rhonda Genet

Customs
rhonda@gatewaycargo.co.nz
Rhonda is a customs broker here at Gateway, which means she is constantly dealing with new challenges and surprises every day. She has been in the industry since 1981 and she puts this down to the fact that freight forwarding ensures that no two days are ever the same! There are many things that keep Rhonda busy after hours, to name a few, walking, baking, knitting, gardening, and spending time with friends and family. She also loves a classic car and listening to music (as long as it is not rap, punk, or heavy metal).

Jackie Chippendale

Operations
jackie@gatewaycargo.co.nz
Jackie has worked in multiple different areas of the business since she started at Gateway Cargo, which means she has the knowledge and capabilities that make her very versatile in the job. Logistics always tests your patience and we are lucky here that Jackie enjoys that no day can be predicted and you never know what problems and solutions you will find during your day. Outside of the office, you may run into Jackie on a hill walk, watching rugby, or traveling around the world.

Donna Hawthorn

Operations
donna@gatewaycargo.co.nz
We are very happy to have Donna rejoin our team, after a few years away on the other side of the fence as a Logistics Manager for a larger Textile Importer. The challenge and vast mix of clients was something that Donna missed, and this was a strong draw card for her to rejoin us. With her newly gained knowledge and experience, Donna brings A fresh client-driven approach to our team. With her change in Career Donna has also started a family and is a very proud Mum, but this has not stopped her from enjoying fine wine & food as well as the odd chance to travel.
